The Canadian Assessment for Learning Conference took place on April 10 and 11 in Nanaimo, BC. The Conference, entitled “Communicating About Learning Through Assessment” featured CAfLN Members and quests from across the Country. We were very excited to host round table discussions on Communicating with QUIO alongside author and consultant, Kathleen Gregory. We also got to meet educator, Kindra Harte – winner of our spring promotion.
“I cannot thank the QUIO team enough for the incredible opportunity to attend the CAFLN conference in Nanaimo this spring. I had attended an assessment conference last winter in Portland and felt hungry for more research and more learning. The CAFLN conference was all that and more. The sessions were very thought provoking and rich. It was the type of experience where you don’t want the time to end.”
“The rich discussions and opportunities to connect with colleagues were very energizing and fulfilling as an educator. I am very excited to be able to continue the journey with my own students using the QUIO Learning map. This for me was the missing piece and now here it is! We have a system that allows us to show the big ideas and learning outcomes and the wonderful personalized learning paths of each student with evidence. This also allows the students to be very self-directed. Once the new curriculum is released from the Ministry of Education teachers can easily work alongside each student to show evidence of learning and also give parents the opportunity to see up to date digital collection boards. The community of learning can share the journey together with purpose, passion, and pride.” – KINDRA
